The official Ontario Commercial Vehicle Knowledge Test is the first challenge to overcome in the licensing process. To pass, you must answer all multiple-choice questions and score 80% or higher before the timer ends. There are no hints or features to assist you; once you go to the DriveTest Centre, you’re on your own. You should study commercial driving theory for several weeks to increase your chances of obtaining a passing score on your first attempt. To learn more about the licensing process, traffic signs and safe driving practices during this time, study the Official Ministry of Transportation (MTO) Truck Handbook or the official MTO Bus Handbook, depending on which class of licence you’re applying for.
