To get your Class 5 driving licence in Quebec, you’ll need to pass the SAAQ knowledge test. It’ll last about 30 minutes. You must pass all three parts of the SAAQ knowledge test: 8 questions on rules and regulations, 8 questions on road signs and traffic signals, and 12 questions on behaviours. The test can be taken in French, English, Arabic, Spanish or Mandarin. If you fail the test, you must wait at least 28 days before you will be allowed to retake the test. You will have to make another appointment. You will only have to retake the parts of the test that you failed. To be able to make a knowledge test appointment, you must have held a learner’s licence for at least 10 months. This free practice test (updated for December 2024) covers a lot of questions on road signs and road rules that you’ll be answering on your Class 5 knowledge test (also known as the SAAQ knowledge test, or SAAQ test). All questions are based on the information from the Québec official Driver’s Handbook, so chances are you will come across them or something very similar when you finally go to take the real test. When in doubt, just hit ‘Hint’ below. To pass the test, you will need to score a minimum of 13 out of 16 questions in the Road Signs and Road Rules section, and a minimum of 26 out of 32 in the Road Situations section of this practice test. You can always restart the test if needed.
