When you’re ready to receive your class 7 learner’s licence in New Brunswick, you’ll need to pass a vision test, a basics and signs test, and a written knowledge test with 40 multiple-choice questions. In order to start the process of having your learner’s licence, you must be at least 16 years of age, and have written signed approval from your parents or guardians if you are under 18 years of age. You’ll need to pay $25 for the written test, and once you pass the written test, $90 for the learner’s licence, which is then valid for four years. If you lose your licence, it will cost $22 to replace it. If you need to retake the written exam, it will cost $15. When you’re ready to take your road test, the fee will be $25. If you want to avoid the retake fee for your written exam, this New Brunswick written practice test can make you more likely to pass on your first try. It covers the same information as the official test, since the questions are based on the 2025 New Brunswick Driver’s Handbook. Each question also has a hint, if you need it, and an explanation that includes what chapter of the textbook the question is based on, if you want to learn more.
