Planning to get your Manitoba Class 5L learner’s licence? Start your journey with our Free 2025 Manitoba Driver’s Knowledge Test Practice Quiz, designed to help you pass the real exam on your first attempt! Modelled after the official knowledge test, our questions reflect the topics and format you may encounter during your official exam. With immediate feedback and explanations for every response, our scientifically proven methods will help you study more efficiently.
The official MPI knowledge test consists of 30 multiple-choice questions. You’ll need to score at least 25 (83%) correct within 30 minutes to pass. The test is based on the current Manitoba Driver’s Handbook and must be taken at an authorized MPI Service Centre or mobile service unit. It’s available in over 20 languages, including English and French.
You must be 16 years old to take the knowledge test. If you’re 15½ and enrolled in MPI’s Driver Z program at a Manitoba high school, you can test early. For those under 18, written parental or guardian consent is required. Before you’re fully licensed to drive, you must pass a vision screening, share any medical issues, and pass the knowledge test. You will also need to pay a test fee, a licence fee, and the base driver premium. This premium helps to cover the costs of Manitoba’s basic insurance coverage for all drivers.
If you don’t pass the knowledge test the first time, you must wait seven days before trying again. Our practice tests are designed to give you an edge from the start, helping you avoid the potential wait and additional fee to retest.
Among other topics, you’ll be tested on Manitoba road signs and lane markings, traffic laws and intersection rules, safe driving habits and hazards, impaired and unsafe driving penalties, and the Graduated Driver License (GDL) program restrictions. As part of the GDL process, once you’ve held your learner’s licence for nine months, you can take the road test to move into the Intermediate Stage (5I). You will then remain in 5I for a minimum of 15 months before moving on to the Full Stage (5F) license.
Our 2025 Manitoba Practice Test, the fifth in our series of Manitoba practice tests, includes 30 questions to help you prepare efficiently. If you haven’t already, be sure to explore all five practice tests, including our premium versions, for a complete study experience!
