You’ll need to pass a written exam called ICBC Knowledge Test before you can receive your BC learner’s licence. You’ll take the 50 multiple choice questions test on a computer at your local driver licensing office and you’ll need to get 40 out of 50 questions right to get your “L”. The written part of the driver’s licence test will cover all the information found in the 2024 Learn to Drive Smart: Your Guide to Driving Safely. This free ICBC practice test will cover all of the same information (everything from licensing laws to road signs and signals) as the real test. Take this practice test as many times as necessary until you feel comfortable with the subject matter: this can increase your chances of passing your real exam on the very first attempt. Preparing for and passing the official ICBC knowledge test are the first steps toward obtaining a driver’s licence: this is the first stage of the graduated driver licensing program taught at driving schools.
