To pass Alberta’s Class 7 Knowledge Exam, you must master the fines and limits questions. Passing this exam is a requirement for the learner’s licence in Alberta, which can be issued to individuals as young as 14. You must also pass a vision screening, present valid government-issued identification, and, if under 18, provide written parental or guardian consent. Failing the exam results in a one-day wait and a retest fee. Our Alberta Fines and Limits Practice Test is designed to help you ace this part of the knowledge exam.
Understanding Alberta’s demerit system, penalties, and zero-tolerance rules is necessary for passing this part of the knowledge exam. Demerits are assigned per the severity of a driving offence. If GDL drivers receive eight demerits within a two-year period (15 demerits for fully licensed drivers), their driving privileges will be suspended. The Alberta Driver’s Guide covers offences like failing to stop for a school bus and speeding in school or construction zones. It also covers activities that are grounds for Immediate Roadside Sanctions (IRS), vehicle seizures, or licence suspensions. Our practice tests fully prepare you for these topics and help you understand the repercussions of accumulating too many violations.
Once the requirements are met and you receive a Class 7 Learner’s Licence, you may drive under the Graduated Drivers License (GDL) program restrictions. These include the requirement to be accompanied by a fully licensed driver at least 18 years of age and not being allowed to drive from midnight to 5 a.m. Note that the GDL program and its holding periods apply to all new drivers, including adults.
The Alberta Knowledge Exam (available in 25 languages) comprises 30 multiple-choice questions. You must take the exam at a registry agent office, and you must correctly answer at least 25 out of 30 (83%) questions to pass.
Our Alberta Fines and Limits Practice Test is based on the most recent version of the Alberta Driver’s Guide and contains 50 multiple-choice questions to assess your knowledge of fines and limits. It provides immediate explanations for each response, ensuring you pass this part of the official knowledge test on your first attempt.
